Presented by the Asia Northwest Cultural Education Association, Sakura-Con is the oldest and most well attended anime convention in the Pacific Northwest. With 14,000 attendees and 27 guests in 2008, some of our 2009 guests include: Musical Artists - Swedish Bubblegum Dance group Smile.dk, JRock band Girugamesh, Asian Dance Rock band The Slants, and a US Premier of Hangry & Angry; vice-president, co-founder and co-owner of New Generation Pictures, Inc. - Jonathan Klein; FUNimation leading voice actor of Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist - Aaron Dismuke; director, writer, and voice actress for FUNimation Entertainment - Leah Clark. A science fiction conference celebrating flat stuff (art, books, comic books) and funny hats. Our 2009 Guests of Honor are writer Peter David and artist Jeff Sturgeon. We will also welcome back our Librarian-in-Residence Kristen Edwards. We expect to have at least one guest science or engineering speaker from the University of Washington.
