Farpoint is an American science-fiction convention held since 1993 in Maryland. The convention is fan-run and gives every attendee a VIP experience without the VIP-size price tag. Typical programming includes panel discussions, a competitive masquerade, independent film and fan videos, a dedicated gaming room, an art show and auction, charity auction, interactive live performances and celebrity guest appearances. It is a successor convention to ClipperCon (1984-1989) and OktoberTrek (1990-1992).
MarsCon is a fan-run science fiction convention for all ages held every March in the Twin Cities area. At MarsCon you’ll find panel discussions, parties, guest of honor presentations, music of many kinds, our art show, film/anime room, science room, dealers room, charity auction, and masquerade. The Dementia track is virtually a con in itself. Mix and mingle with a few hundred of your favorite fanish friends at MarsCon!
Conventions with Science Fiction programming
Costume-Con is an international convention that has been devoted to costuming of all kinds since 1983. All skill levels, from beginners to masters, and all types of costumers are welcome, including cosplayers, historical reenactors, doll dressmakers, science fiction enthusiasts, fantasy fans, and more. The theme will be “Ports of Call” and you can interpret that as broadly as you like. Maybe you’re captain of a dirigible tethered in town. Or perhaps you work on an intergalactic cruiser currently in orbit. Maybe the year is 1942 and you’re shipping out to the South Pacific.
